Bodmer Lab Festival

 

May 31st, June 1st and 2nd 2018, the Bodmer Lab Festival will offer several presentations focused on world literature, in the sites of the University of Geneva and the Martin Bodmer Foundation.

The Bodmer Lab Festival will open 31 May 2018 at 18:30 with writer Patrick Chamoiseau and Jérôme David in conversation on the theme of “World Literature Today” (Uni-Dufour, Salle U300).

Friday 1 June at 15:00, the Festival will present a roundtable discussion including artist and philosopher Emmanuel Guez and artist Lauren Huret. The discussion, on “Archaeologies of Media: Digital Technology in Perspective,” will be moderated by professor Yves Citton (UNIGE, Salle Denis de Rougemont, rue Jean-Daniel-Colladon 2).

The activities of Saturday, 2 June will take place at the Martin Bodmer Foundation (Cologny). The morning will be dedicated to a workshop for children, “From Paper to Digital,” led by Mélanie Exquis and Jérôme David (10:00 to 12:00).

Two presentations will be offered in the afternoon programme:

  • “Representing French Florida (1564-65): from 16th-Century Prints to Graphic Novels,” by graphic novelist Jean Dytar (13:00-15:15).
  • “Mobility and Materiality of Texts. Shakespeare, Cervantes, Molière,” presented by Roger Chartier, professor at the Collège de France (15:30-17:30).
