Hommage to Martin Bodmer at the Collège de France

At the invitation of William Marx, Jérôme David spoke on 16 March at the Collège de France as part of the seminar devoted this year to "invisible libraries". The Bibliotheca Bodmeriana was placed alongside other libraries of world literature.

This conference took place fifty years almost to the day after the death of the collector, so it took on the overtones of a commemoration. And since times of pandemic restrict the occasions for reunions, whether solemn or festive, this tribute was also the occasion to play a Marvin Gaye song recorded in 1971 - serious in its subject matter, and groovy in its tempo.
